Who should join The Sirens?

Women and FLINTA persons that are grassroots sauna experience owners.

A woman-owned business is one in which women collectively hold at least 51% ownership and maintain full control over operations and management, with unrestricted access to all aspects of the business.

The Sauna Sirens consider these key elements to define a women-owned / women-led business to join our circle.

  • At least 51% ownership

  • Must be currently operating as a business. (Not in planning stages.)

  • Is the lead on key business operations such as hiring, management, development.

  • If personally present on the business social media channels, is the dominant forward facing personality and/or voice.

  • In the operations of the sauna, is the forward facing person to clients and/or staff.

  • Is the lead in representing the business at business meetings, industry events, and more.

  • Alignment to our Pillars that help drive our mission & values.

  • Referrals via existing Sirens are always a plus!

Definition of saunas as it pertains to the Sauna Sirens:

We serve women-owned sauna businesses that operate in the spirit of traditional hot room bathing practices found in Nordic & Baltic regions. Examples include Sauna, Banya, Pirts, and Pirtus. We currently do not include infrared sauna in this definition.

While we recognize that women are doing great work in spaces such as construction, marketing, and hosting for sauna operations, our group is focused on sauna experience ownership and operations at this time.
